From Barely Getting By to Making a Profit, and Knowing It!
Situation/Problem:
L. L-P had already created an exciting and satisfying career for herself when she started coaching with me. She traveled the country in her van, conducting "Natural Vocalizing" workshops at metaphysical venues. Her business was making money, but not a lot of profit. She did not know how to cut her expenses and increase her profit.
She wanted her business to be, "an international movement toward peace and healing". Her vision was that Natural Vocalizing become "a recognized, valid form of stress release, healing of the body, mind, Spirit, emotions and situations".
She was carrying debt that made her uneasy. She wanted to create more CD’s of her music and increase her passive income. She had a book "half written" in her mind, but could not seem to get it down on paper and out as a product, and this caused some frustration.
Between her travels, time with husband when she was home, and all the administration involved in holding her workshops, she simply ran out of time to do the creative work she wanted to do. Creating more passive income from products always seemed to be just out of her reach. She wanted more radio exposure, but did not know how to pursue it. She spent massive time on the road making the CD’s to fulfill the sales from her workshops. She was doing it all, including her bookkeeping.
She wanted to expand her business, have more workshops, increase her profit, have more ease, fulfill her vision, and create a solid brand.
Solution:
We worked on her issues of not deserving all her dreams. She was such a wonderful client because she could easily shift from an old position to a new one. We laughed a lot over her "Holy Shifts"!
We created a plan and prioritized her actions. We agreed to a strategy of increasing the numbers of attendees in her workshops. We brainstormed on what needed to happen at the venue to increase the number of attendees and came up with some ideas that she put into action. This included insisting on an active contact at the venues for marketing and registration before her arrival. Emphasis was put on promotion happening in timely fashion, and she began to insist on this when the contracts were signed.
We created a whole action plan for this and eventually her mother was to take charge of making sure these things occurred in time to bring full workshops.
This involved some changes in her timing. We created a list of those activities she wanted to let go of in order to focus more on her business. I had her write up the criteria for hiring a virtual assistant to handle the workshop administration. Eventually she realized that hiring her mother to do this was the perfect solution. I had recommended that she look into a fulfillment center to make her CD’s and other products. She realized that this was another task her mother could do for her. This freed L. L-P up to focus on increasing the number and size of workshops. Her father agreed to do her bookkeeping.
We worked on any residual need she had to "live on the edge" and converted it to choosing abundant living. I had her come up with a "marketing kit" for her venues. We talked about her organizing her schedule of workshops more efficiently so that there was less travel and more time earning money. She increased her prices and increased the cost of her vocal lessons by $10 an hour.
She had been focusing on doing her workshops in Unity and Religious Science venues. We began to look at ways that she could expand the types of her venues. She began to explore schools and decided also to create a corporate product and begin marketing it.
We worked on organizing her van in such a way that it worked better for her business.
We worked on her playing and relaxing more when she was at home with her husband, and to strategize how to carve out time for herself rather than just spending the whole time working. She took more time booking herself to have a full calendar of events rather than spending so much time driving between venues. I gave her the homework of getting two massages while she was home. We worked on her releasing and decluttering massively and easily without making it a complicated or arduous process.
I gave her a spreadsheet so that she could create an income statement and stay on top of the income, expenses, and profit in her business. I got her to start to record expenses immediately so that she could make better decisions and keep an eye on her profit at all times. Once she started doing this, her business started to show a profit. She totally "got" this and experienced a major shift in abundance consciousness.
She is such a fun person to work with. The best part was that once she started to see her profit as she went, she began to manifest free housing opportunities in great homes, and cut her expenses drastically. This was a joy to watch. The profit began to climb!
She got a digital recorder and began to record the information she needed to finish her workbook.
She let go of a lot of feelings that were holding her back, and began to work on her weight. She started using The Secret for inspiration, and we worked on, "What stories do you tell yourself?" We talked about, "Who do you need to become?" to have the results you want. We busted her attitide of, "I don’t need that much. It’s greedy!"
I sent her my Self Esteem exercise and she began to do it. We talked about her taking fewer and more “pointed” actions and she loved this idea. I gave her a resource to get on radio shows and she committed to doing this. Our strategy is for her to arrange a radio show appearance prior to her workshops to increase attendance.
She commented that she had many opportunities to, "get out of my peace", but she chose peace!
I recommended that she more consciously choose her venues and to pay attention to those venues that were not making her money and to be willing to drop them from the rotation.
I got her to research corporations that care about their employees and to target them with her corporate product. We brainstormed about what the corporate product would look like.
She began to walk daily. She decided she wanted to create more income from selling her products on the internet. She wanted to “make space” to create the book.
Results:
She got all the following results in only a year!
- She increased her profits.
- She paid consistent attention to profit.
- She improved her decision-making about expenses.
- She increased her ease.
- She released hampering attitudes.
- She put systems in place that helped her increase her business, and made her product fulfillment work better.
- She was more efficient at planning her workshop schedule.
- She began to hold larger workshops.
- She cut expenses by staying in beautiful private housing rather than paying for motels.
